Principal and Vice Principals Leadership Styles Research Paper

Head and Vice Principals Leadership Styles - Research Paper Example Instructive administration can be depicted through the administration and initiative hypotheses. Shrub (2003) distinguished different models that portray the two primary hypotheses. The administration hypothesis can be characterized into six models that incorporate; formal, collegial, political, abstract, vulnerability, and social models. The six models that depict initiative speculations in training the board incorporate; the ethical model, possibility administration, value-based and administrative authority, the post-current just as participative authority styles. The proper models depict a various leveled plan in the administration structure. In this model, the school heads treat the foundation as a framework where organization is looked after (Bush, 2002). There is an arrangement of guidance which is generally top-down while revealing must follow the different positions to the top. This model is obvious in Matador High School. The chief is the general head and the second in comma nd reports to him. The VP goes about as a center level director in contemporary associations, overseeing the school personnel, however he also has a few exercises that he instructs. All educators are responsible to the standard and have execution focuses on that are set for the achievement of the general objective of the school. The conventional administration structure is coordinated with the administrative authority of the head. This is an administration style where directors are centered around their motivation in helping the association to achieve their destinations. They guarantee that all procedures are practiced by plan and that each individual is in the assigned spot at the ideal time (Cheng, 2002). Administration in Matador was top down with the instructors being relied upon to carry on and achieve assignments as indicated by the spread out techniques in the school.â â

Discuss the ways in which Jonathon Swift Essay Example for Free

Talk about the manners by which Jonathon Swift Essay He says that men wouldnt offer to beat or kick [their wives] during their season of pregnancy inspired by a paranoid fear of an unnatural birth cycle. Orwells composing is about death, a point that would not as a rule have been talked about in the conversational way he employments. The utilization of overstatement in Swifts composing adds to the feeling of shock felt by the peruser. In A Modest Proposal, he doesnt basically express that we ought to eat babies, however continues endlessly with progressively grim thoughts. He proposes plans and even prescribes excoriating the remains to make honorable gloves what's more, summer boots, which is all just loathsome to the peruser. In Gullivers Travels he broadly expounds on the most disturbing of substantial capacities as in Lilliput where he can't avoid placing in that his dung was taken away in handcarts. Orwell doesnt misrepresent in How The Poor Die yet just underlines and repeats his point on the dishonorable absence of regard appeared for the lives of poor people. There are a few sentences and expressions that Swift uses in an easygoing, impudent way that incite aversion the peruser. For instance he discusses the twenty thousand bodies as though they were steers and he discusses newborn child tissue similarly that somebody may discuss sheep. The possibility that infants ought to be eaten at joyful gatherings, especially weddings and christenings is particularly sickening. In Gullivers Travels the language is rarely coarse and the topic isnt as unrealistic as in A Modest Proposal, yet it is as yet revolting to the peruser. For instance, to peruse of how the Yahoos would outsider their pioneers most loved and afterward release their fertilizers upon him from head to foot. Orwell is unmistakably more unobtrusive than Swift, deciding to avoid the filthy and essentially state what he sees. He depicts a case into which pieces of food and grimy dressings from the ward were flung. This normally repulses the peruser, particularly all things considered in an emergency clinic. He likewise decides to focus on the upsetting the perusers sentiments instead of their stomach. The appalling thought of a demise not saw till the morning upsets me in an alternate manner to Swifts composing. Both Swift and Orwell sicken the peruser by causing them to go up against some of people groups most exceedingly terrible feelings of trepidation. Quick arrangements with the grisly idea of barbarianism, and Orwell examines two extremely regular feelings of dread: neediness and undignified passing. One of the most exceedingly awful, as I would like to think is the infringement and absence of regard for the dead. The detail with which Swift depicts his thought is cooling, the precise count of figures is likewise upsetting. As he legitimizes it, it appears the thought could nearly be sensible, all things considered, he has taken something that is totally adequate for us to do to creatures, and supplanted it with babies. In the event that it werent for the unpleasant, negative tone of his composition and the cynical cleverness that gets through, the peruser can imagine how he really needed to eat kids. Close to the finish of How The Poor Die, Orwell alludes to the poor having their teeth extricated with no sedative. This would inspire an emotional response from numerous perusers as an enormous number of individuals will have had a tooth separated sooner or later in their lives and would have the option to identify straightforwardly with the people in question. In Gullivers Travels the disgusting areas appear to be all the more cheerful as it were, than the other two pieces. I discover Gulliver genuinely depicting upsetting procedures a bit of sickening, somewhat amusing, however not upsetting. I believe that the appalling segments in Gullivers Travels are less significant than those in A Modest Proposal and How The Poor Die. I think that its hard to pick whose approach is progressively compelling as the two journalists are very extraordinary. The two of them had social souls: Swift was a senior member and Orwell an early communist, anyway I get the feeling that Swift is angrier about neediness and it appears in the unimaginable idea of his composition. Orwell doesnt appear as enthusiastic as Swift, as he doesnt utilize such emotive language and writes in an unpolished, level way. All in all, I discover Swift increasingly viable. This is most likely due to the over the top, hostile nature of what he has written in A Modest Proposal. I believe that by writing in this engaging manner and entertaining the peruser he is more powerful than Orwell.

Bless Me, Ultima by Rudolfo Anaya Essay - 1652 Words

Bless Me, Ultima by Rudolfo Anaya Children believe what their parents tell them but as they get older they start to question that which used to be unquestionable. Bless Me, Ultima is a novel by Rudolfo Anaya about a young Chicano boy, Antonio Juan Marez y Luna, who is growing up and seeing the world for how cruel it really is. A wise old curandera, or faith healer, Ultima, arrives just before Tony receives his first glimpse into the world of men. Ultima gives Tony spiritual healing throughout the book, as well as advice to keep him in harmony with nature and his spirit. The more Tony sees of death in the little town of Guadalupe, New Mexico, the more he questions the Christian God and turns towards the golden carp, a pagan god of†¦show more content†¦By growing up and becoming a man, boys witness acts of sin and commit a few acts themselves. Tony has witnessed sin but he is not a man because he has not committed any sins or seen enough to really understand the world he is living in. Tony is taught that, ?It was a sin to grow up and be a man.; (31), by listening to his mother, and realizes that one day he would be grown up and lose his innocence to become a man. Because of this Tony sees how cruel God can be by putting boys on earth to grow up and become men. Tony asks whether his destiny and faith are the ones he wants to believe in and begins his journey towards changing his spiritual beliefs, and the golden carp only reinforces these doubts that Tony is just beginning to realize. The next step in Tony?s spiritual journey begins when Tony sees another god and wonders whether this god is any kinder to his people than God. Tony believed that God should have forgiven Narciso for his sins and not Tenorio because Tony was partial to Narciso. God is not partial and when he gives forgiveness to one man he must also give it to another, but Tony does not like this. God?s response was ?I will...if you also ask me to forgive Tenorio.; (173) Tony can?t believe that his God would think of forgiving an evil man like Tenorio. Once Narciso dies and Tony sees the beauty of the golden carp Tony starts to wonder even more whether God is really as good and wonderful as Tony has been taught he is. Development Of Restful Mashup Application -Myassignmenthelp.Com

Question: Discuss About The Development Of Restful Mashup Application? Answer: Introduction As the GE has decided to use the SOA therefore it is important to determine the computing, storage infrastructure design management, data as well as application integration to have a unified view of the data collected from multiple data sources and are stored in different formats. The different sections of this report consist of discussion about the probable solutions for the storage design, data integrations that will help them in improving the processes that requires data collected from sources. Computing and storage infrastructure design As the organization is operating at different locations and requires a distributed computing and storage solution for all its IT needs. Thus, considering cost and effectiveness of different solutions it can be stated that, the organization should use rented services from the cloud services. The reasons behind this can be stated as the storage and the computing power of public clouds are available on internet. In addition to that, the service providers provide technical expertise for the deployment thus in other words the public clouds are easy to deploy. The public cloud service providers operate at quite good speed due to the optimization provided by the providers, which is also alluring to some enterprises. Thus require lesser amount of time is required for deployment. The services as well as resources are accessible quickly that saves time for the organization which may be required to develop and deploy the private cloud solution. In addition to that the adoption of the public cloud for the organization frees the organization from the responsibilities of maintaining the software and hardware systems. This maintenance is managed by the service providers. The IT staffs of the organization does not have to manage the cloud framework. No long term agreements are required for service providers. Most of the cloud service providers provides their services depending on the pay-as-you-go models. Thus the operation have to pay according to their usage of computing resources and storage. In addition to that, the organization will get more resources whenever they require it for their business. Thus the public gives the organization more flexibility to the organizations to manage the resources and storage as per their requirement. With all this advantage there are certain issues that needs to be kept in mind while renting some public cloud service. One of the most important issues that should be checked is the reliability of the services. As the data centres of the service providers are less secure compared to the private clouds. Application/service integration The organizations consist of numerous applications or systems that are used by different departments of the organization, which provides different services required every day the organization relies upon to complete their day to day business operations. This applications or systems may be licensed from a third party vendor or developed in-house. Thus, integration of this system or applications are important in better coordination of different operations of different departments of the organization. Mashups are one of the best example of application integration on the internet. This type of web application is capable of bringing together numerous sources of data in order to form and represent some unique combination of meaningful data. In this project a google map mash up application is developed which will help in finding and plotting marker on the location of the clinics that are provided in the merged data source clinic_location.csv. The RESTful web service will be responsible for retrieving a Json object containing the location details as well as other details about a clinic in a specific region. This mashup application will use ajax calls in order to mark the location using a marker on the google map. In order to map a specific location on the google map, it is important to know the specific longitude and latitude of that area or location. This mash up or integrated applications are important for following reasons, Interoperability- It is the most important aspect of the application integration. Various modules of the employed infrastructure may be deployed on different data formats, operating systems as well as programing languages thus may prevent connection for other services using a standard interface. Data integration for the different applications or systems- For any distributed, and modular system used in the organization, a standard process for handling the data flow between different applications is important as it enforces consistency across the database or the format of the data that is used by different applications. Stability, Scalability and Robustness- This three attributes acts as vital factors that impacts on the performance of the system modules that holds the infrastructure. The integration of the applications must be stable, robust as well as scalable to meet the requirements of the organization. Information integration Presently there are mainly three approaches are used for data integration. Which are, schema integration, procedural approach and lastly the query oriented approach. In case of the schema integration based approach, input to this process is a pool of data sets. Every data set is constituted by actual data and a schema that defines the structure of the dataset. The main goal is to deliver a reconciled and unified view of the collected data from the different sources. This process does not interfere into the autonomy of the datasets as well as their sources. This process deals with the read-only integration of the data. Therefore, this a reconciled view of the unified dataset is only used for answering user queries and not for updating the records. In case of the procedural approach, data collected from different sources are integrated in an ad-hoc manner according to the set of predefined information needs of an organization or user. In procedural approach the integration of data is dependent on the two components mediators and wrappers. Wrappers are useful in encapsulating the sources of the data. In addition to that it also helps in the conversion of the core data objects into some common data model. The mediators are required in obtaining information from a single or multiple wrappers. The mediators can obtain or extract data from other mediators. After this stage the mediators refines the obtained information by resolving conflicts among the different pieces of information collected from numerous data sources. The refined data is then provided to either to the other mediators or to the users. The last approach is query-oriented approach. In this approach, the goal is modeling of the collected data at the sources by using some suitable language. This can be extended SQL or some kind of declarative logic-based language. In order to build a unified representation or view of the collected data and refer to such a demonstration at the time of querying any global information system. In addition to that deriving query answers by using some suitable mechanisms to access accessing the data sources or to the materialized views of the unified data. Demo introduction For this project there are two data files (clinic.csv and another is location.xml) are available that needs to be cleaned, merged and integrated to get some meaningful data. As two data files are in different formats. Therefore, we used xml, sys and Petl packages in Python. We first converted the xml file into csv data set so that it can be used with clinic.csv file. We used following code snippet for this conversion of the dataset. import petl as etl from xml.dom import minidom, Node import sys def scanNode(node, file=sys.stdout, level = 0): if node.hasChildNodes(): for child in node.childNodes: scanNode(child, file, level + 1) else: if node.nodeValue.strip() != "": file.write(node.nodeValue + ',') if node.nodeType == Node.ELEMENT_NODE: if node.hasAttributes(): file.write(node.attributes.item(0).nodeValue + ',') if level == 2: file.write("n") DOMTree = minidom.parse('locations.xml') file = open('locations1.csv', 'w') file.write("Name,Suburb,Lat,Lonn") scanNode(DOMTree, file) file.close() table1=etl.fromcsv('locations1.csv') print (table1) table2=etl.fromcsv('clinics.csv') print (table2) table=etl.join(table1,table2,key='Suburb') print (table) etl.tocsv(table,'clinic_locations1.csv') after the merger the cleaned data looks like following, In order to get results from the RESTful web service demo, at first we have to execute the clinic locator.py program using any python IDE so that the web service can retrieve the data from the clinic_locations.csv data file. The successful execution of the web service server is shown below, After the web service is started, mashup application needs to be launched which is the clinic_map.html. on this page the user needs to input a postal code in which they want to find the clinic. If the web service finds any matching data in the merged csv file that consist the similar postal code, then the web service returns a JSON data object to the mashup application which then consumed by the application to plot a marker on the google map. Conclusion The system and data integration is important in the present scenario for the organizations and users as this integration of applications are helpful in providing a unified view of the data collected from numerous sources and formats. The web service application and the mashup application developed in this project is helpful in providing a unified view about the different details of the clinic on the map. Problem: Import-Export Imbalance Introduction:Among the many economic problems faced by the Philippines, the imbalance of imports and exports creates a toll on our development with foreign countries. The negative trade is heavy and only counterbalanced by the service account surplus. Over the last two decades, Philippine exports have shifted from commodity-based products to manufactured goods. However, in the midst of the current global economic recession, the exports of electronics, garments and textiles have yet to reach a level of import neutralization. Economic Anal ysis: Our country produces a variety of different products. But Filipinos don’t give as much patronage to local products as compared to imported goods. If asked, most of our countrymen would prefer purchasing goods from other countries, over products that are domestically grown and produced. Most countries attempt to achieve a trade balance, in which the flow of imports and exports is relatively equal. If a country exports too much, it may not be able to support its domestic needs, while a country which imports excessive amounts of products may not have enough money to support the high volume of imports. In a country with a trade balance, import and export rates are about equal, with nations exporting excess items for sale, and importing the goods that it needs. Historically, the Philippines has been an important centre for commerce for centuries for its ethnic minority, namely, the Chinese who were also its first occupants. The archipelago has also been visited by Arabs and In dians for the purpose of trading in the first and early second millennium. As of 21st century, the country is member in several international trade organizations including the APEC, ASEAN and WTO.Since 1980s, the Philippines have opened their economy to foreign markets, and established a network of free trade agreements with several countries. The United States is one of the Philippines top trading partners. In 2010, according to US Department of Commerce dad, trade between the Philippines and US amounts to US$15. 4 billion. US is also the Philippines largest foreign investor, with foreign direct investment close to US$6 billion at the end of 2009. Under the new Aquino administration, the government plans to open up the country to more foreign investment in industries such as business processing operations, mining and tourism. However, this move may be hindered by restrictions such a prohibition of foreign ownership of land and public utilities. Philippines Import and Export Indicato rs and Statistics at a Glance (2010) Total value of exports:  US$50. 72 billion Primary exports commodities: semiconductors and electronic products, transport equipment, garments, copper products, petroleum products, coconut oil, fruits Primary exports partners:  US (17. 6 percent of total exports), Japan (16. 2 percent), Netherlands (9. 8 percent), Hong Kong (8. 6 percent), China (7. 7 percent), Germany (6. percent), Singapore (6. 2 percent), South Korea (4. 8 percent) Total value of imports:  US$59. 9 billion Primary imports commodities:  electronic products, mineral fuels, machinery and transport equipment, iron and steel, textile fabrics, grains, chemicals, plastic Primary imports partners:  Japan (12. 5 percent of total imports), US (12 percent), China (8. 8 percent), Singapore (8. 7 percent), South Korea (7. 9 percent), Taiwan (7. 1 percent), Thailand (5. 7 percent) Although there are many variances that cause the imbalances, the following are some specific reasons .Convergent or divergent dynamics of imports and exports are the first causes of trade balance changes. Everything that impacts asymmetrically on imports and exports can impact the trade balance. In particular, price and non-price competitiveness is relevant. If external pressure forces down the prices at which a country sells its exports, then a trade deficit is more likely (terms of trade effect). In other words, in a hierarchical world, trade balance can reflect political balance of power.A faster GDP growth than trade partners ones usually results in trade deficit, since imports are elastic to GDP (they raise more than proportionally). Currency exchange rate can be very important: possibly due to a fixed exchange rate and a higher inflation rate than commercial partners, an overvaluation of the domestic currency can lead to deep trade deficits on most products and with most countries. A sharp devaluation can dramatically improve all these relationships Our country is producing a lot of different product. But we rarely notice it, we Filipinos patronized the product of our neighboring country because now in our day using foreign and branded products will make you look â€Å"cool† while using Philippine products will make you look cheap, without knowing that some of Philippine product was bought by other countries and they just use their brand name in our products. I think that our government should follow what the Chinese did before, they control the importing of foreign products and let make their people buy their own products. Now as we see the China was one of the richest countries in the world.I think that if we do the same there is a great chance that our country will one day became one of the richest countries in the world. II. Problem: Low Market Development Introduction: Marketing has always been prevalent in creating various impacts on a nations growing economy. Economics is strongly involved with the booming industries through the use of busi ness strategies. Product innovation is also an important factor in the economic development of any country. It is primarily vested on the ability of the constituents to formulate ideas beneficial to both the masses and the countrys financial status. The Philippines, known as a financially democratic country, has an economy that is marked as the 40th largest in the entire world as stated by the 2012 International Monetary Fund statistics. It is also one of the emerging markets in the world as a heavily industrialized country, it has been transitioning from being centered on the agricultural sector to service providing and then to manufacturing various products. According to the CIA Fact book, the estimated 2012 GDP (purchasing power parity) of the Philippines was 424. 355 billion in estimation.Goldman Sachs, an American multinational financing bank, estimates that by the year 2050, the Philippines will be the 14th largest economy in the world. Goldman Sachs also included the Philippi nes in its list of the Next Eleven economies. According to HSBC, another well-known and influential financial institution, the Philippine economy will become the 16th largest economy in the world, 5th largest economy in Asia and the largest economy in the Southeast Asian region by 2050. These predictions speak highly about the Philippines improvement in the business sector which will probably lift the country out of the 3rd world nation stigma. In order to make the possible improvements, it is suggested that the Philippines must focus more on exportation of goods and services such as: electronic products, semiconductors, transport equipment, garments, copper products, petroleum products, coconut oil, and fruits. With the help of foreign countries charting throughout the globe, the plan on investing more on exportation may be a plausible stepping stone in the transformation of the once forlorn economy to a thriving economy that is at par with first world economies like that of Japan, Singapore and the like.Market development pays a huge page in promoting innovation within the business sectors. This would entail the expanding of potentials markets through new users and new uses. The strategy would have to be remodeled with the use of new geographic segments, new demographic segments, new institutional segments and new psychographic segments in order to reach out to important factors in the market. Economic Analysis/Conclusion: The year 2012 has been a magical year for the Philippines real state industry.Stbale economic growth, low interest rates, and increasing home investment of overseas Filipino workers drove the steady demand in the local property market. Add in the continuous growth of foreign investment, expansion of the off-shoringand outsourcing industries, and the influx of expatriate workers. All these factors have combined to the shape the property boom that is changing the skyline not only of the metropolitan region but of the provincial cities as we ll. The Philippines has the fastest growing economy among Asian countries for the first quarter of 2013 according to the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB).Our beloved country is also considered as the 40th largest economy and one of the emerging markets in the world. Philippines is considered as a newly industrialized country. It has been transitioning from agriculture to services and manufacturing. It is said that the quarterly growth rate was the highest record since reformist President Benigno Aquino III took office in 2010 on a promise to fight corruption and cut poverty. The Philippines is on the verge of regaining decades lost to slow growth, thanks to government efforts to instill confidence that have kept the country on the investors’ radar even amid financial volatility. The restoration of macroeconomic balance has helped insulate domestic conditions from recurring global financial turmoil and volatile capital flows,† the Institute of International Finance (IIF) said in report dated Aug. 14. â€Å"The key issue for the near-term outlook is maintaining macroeconomic stability. The strong growth at the turn of the year was not a transitory phenomenon, but evidence that the economy was regaining momentum,† it added. IIF— a group of global financial institutions— noted the economy could surprise with a 7. -percent growth this year, faster than last year’s 6. 8 percent, following the first-quarter uptick of 7. 8 percent. Part of the reason for the sterling performance, the group said, was the Philippines’ â€Å"rising global prominence† hinged on the Aquino administration’s budget discipline and improving public governance. In the SONA last month, Mr. Aquino outlined several economic reforms such as the rationalization of fiscal incentives and the relaxation of the â€Å"cabotage† law, which currently restricts foreigners from plying interisland shipping routes in the country .These planned reforms, as well as the crackdown on smuggling that was also highlighted in the President’s speech before Congress, were welcomed by foreign investors as signs of the administration’s seriousness to further strengthen the country’s economic base. Registered investments for the month reached $2. 5 billion. The bulk of these funds went to publicly listed shares, while the remaining went to peso time deposits and government securities. The registered investments for the month were 11. 3 percent lower than June’s figure, but this was mainly due to the one-time block sale of shares in publicly listed Cosco Capital Inc. the BSP said. Based on the research conducted, the country must appoint credible and competent managerial heads in order to reach its optimal goal in progressing market structures. A marketing manager has to consider certain questions before implementing a market development strategy. For example: 1. Are they profitable? Profitabi lity is an important factor in implementing ideas within a market-centered civilization. Other questions regarding the development of the market would include the following: 2. Will it require the introduction of new or modified products? And, 3. Are the customer and channel well enough researched and understood? The marketing manager uses four groups to focus the market segment decision: existing customers, competitor customers, non-buying in current segments and, new segments. III. Problem: Unemployment Introduction: Unemployment occurs when people are without work and actively seeking work. The unemployment rate is a measure of the prevalence of unemployment and it is calculated as a percentage by dividing the number of unemployed individuals by all individuals currently in the labor force. The Philippines remains one of the most resilient economies in Southeast Asia, but such growth is neither sustainable nor inclusive as joblessness remains a problem for most Filipinos. Philippin es jobless rate increased to 7. 5 percent in April from 7. 1 percent reported in January and 6. 9 percent in April of 2012. The unemployment rate was pushed up by job losses in the agricultural sector due to extreme weather conditions. The employment rate reached 92. 5 percent, down from 93. 1 percent a year ago, due to a drop in the number of agricultural workers.Laborers and unskilled workers comprised the biggest group making up one-third (32. 6 percent) of the total employed persons; 57. 5 percent of the total employed population were wage and salary workers and 63. 5 percent were working full time. There were more males (61. 4 percent) than females (38. 6 percent) among the unemployed. The age group 15-24 made up 48. 2 percent of the total unemployed, while the age group 25-34, 30. 9 percent. By education, about one-fifth (21. 3 percent) of the unemployed were college graduates, 14. percent were college undergraduates, and 31. 7 percent were high school graduates. In the latest Asian Development Outlook 2013 released, the Manila-based lender forecasts Philippine gross domestic product to expand 6 percent this year and in 2014. According to ADO 2013, persistently high levels of unemployment and underemployment remain a key concern in the country. As the latest data from the National Statistics Office has shown, about 7 percent of the 40 million labor forces are unemployed, while about 20 percent are underemployed. The Philippines has a strong growth in its hand and the next step for the Philippine government is to translate this strong growth into more jobs that will benefit most Filipinos. President  Benigno Aquino  has promised to cut unemployment to 6 percent at most by the end of his term in 2016. Proposals include easing curbs on foreign investment, boosting tourism and infrastructure to provide more work outside the capital, and expanding farming and fishing, said Economic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan, who’s in charge of the plan.Th e low investment share is because past economic growth has depended more on services that are less capital intensive than industry. We have to provide something like a million new jobs; we do have a significant increase in population. † Almost  half of all jobless  Filipinos are between the ages of 15 and 24, according to the government statistics office. The biggest area of employment remains  agriculture and fishing, which provides work for 30. 4 million people, or almost a third of the population. About 8 percent work in manufacturing.Call center agents are the most in demand, followed by salespeople and service crew, according to  Phil-JobNet, the government’s official job portal. The site has 14,165 vacancies in so-called business process outsourcing. With limited opportunities at home, many jobseekers go abroad to find work. The number of overseas Filipino workers climbed 15 percent in 2011 to almost 1. 7 million, the Philippine Overseas Employment Adminis tration said. The funds they sent home totaled  $21. 4 billion  last year, about 10 percent of gross domestic product. Economic Analysis/Conclusion:One of the reasons why people nowadays are jobless is because people are lazy. The global crisis does take effect on this issue; so does one’s stature in life, but being predominantly sluggish is also a factor in unemployment. One’s financial status can also be a factor, in a sense that without proper and complete education, one’s chances of being hired is gradually slimmed down. Here are points on why a lot of people remain jobless amidst modern globalization efforts: 1. Low self-esteem due to lack of financial aid, 2. The Global Crisis which deeply affects the nation’s economic progress, 3.Educational attainment does not go pass collegiate level due to lack of financial resources. As the days go by, developers take more technological advances in creating more job opportunities for the masses. One example would have to be the efforts done by local institutions such as TESDA – which aims to provide vocational courses and setting lower costs so education can be better attained. This is where the blue collar jobs come in. more and more people are being open to blue collar jobs than white collar jobs due to its attainability to the masses.Even non-collegiate graduates may belonged to the blue collared sector. One of the factors we take much pride in is our bountiful number of English proficient workers in all different kinds of fields of expertise. This is possibly why our industry has reached so much success in business process outsourcing sectors such as call centers. But given those facts, why do we still see an evident gap in the job sector in the Philippines? Around 2. 8 million people are jobless today. According to the World Bank around 10 million people nationwide are unemployed and underemployed.Based on a million Filipinos added to labor force annually in the Philippine s, our government can create 14. 6 million jobs until 2016. Half a million Filipinos graduate college every year, yet a lot of companies still have difficulty looking for credible workers. This is because the courses chosen by the graduates are usually not in-sync with the job description needed for employment. Courses/programs being taken up in school are essential since they give an edge of expertise for someone in the labor force over those whose course may be considered far-fetched.Colleges and universities across the nation are now taking action to revise and update their course offerings that would jive well with the ever-changing trends of the industry and business sector. In mountainous terrain, a number of factors contribute to climate and weather patterns and create a variety of micro-climates. These factors include elevation, latitude, prevailing winds, alignment of valleys, shading from mountains, and winds from the glaciers. Altitude has a great impact on the local climate; the higher the elevation, the colder the temperature. Difference between Social Anxiety Disorder and Shyness Research Paper

Difference between Social Anxiety Disorder and Shyness - Research Paper Example This fear results in the inability of persons suffering from the condition to function normally in social situations. Social anxiety disorder is the most common mental condition around the world and it is estimated that at least twelve percent of the world’s population of children suffer from the condition which develops into their adulthood (Bandelow, Dan & Stein 2004). Social anxiety disorder is normally categorized into two; that is general and specific. The social anxiety disorder that is generalized is normally characterized by the intense fear of someone being humiliated or embarrassed by their actions and fear of being judged by those surrounding them. Specialized social anxiety disorder is where someone is chronically afraid of specific situations. Social anxiety disorder symptoms appear at an early stage in life. For instance, it is estimated that at least eighty percent of people suffering from the disease usually start experiencing symptoms by the time they attain t he age of 20 years (Bandelow, Dan & Stein, 2004). Symptoms associated with the social anxiety disorder are categories into three categories which are behavioral aspects, physiological aspects, and cognitive aspects. Cognitive symptoms of the disorder are where someone has the fear of how they will be presented to others. Symptoms include high self-attention during any social activity and being self-conscious. Most people who suffer from the disease also set performance standards that are too high for themselves. Behavioral aspects of the social anxiety disorder include fearing to be judged by others the society, feeling humiliated or embarrassed after saying something, being uncomfortable in meeting and interacting with people and being distant when with a large group of people among others. Physiological symptoms include shaking, sweating, difficulty in breathing, palpitations, and nausea especially when in crowds and meeting new people. Shyness is a feeling of awkwardness, lack of comfort and apprehension experienced by a person when in close contact with people especially new people. Shyness is considered a feeling or a personality trait and not a medical condition (Antony, 2010). There are various misconceptions that are associated with shyness. One such common attribution is that shy people normally have high intelligence. This is entirely wrong since research has proven that there is no relation to both negative and positive between shyness and intelligence. Shyness is most common in children and normally progresses into adulthood if it is not dealt with. In different cultures, shyness is perceived differently depending on the values imposed in the cultures. For example, in some cultures, shy people are often assumed to be weak while in other cultures shyness is usually associated with intelligence and thoughtfulness. There are various reasons why people experience shyness. Genetics greatly influence shyness where the traits are found among family member s or relatives. Shyness also results from a learned behavior where a person emulates the behavior of their role model which is common in adults (Antony, 2010). Family relationships also result in shyness, especially where children are not emotionally attached to their parents.

Cross culture management Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words

Cross culture management - Essay Example Essentially, the organisational culture followed at IKEA in Sweden was very different from the Spanish culture which was experienced to be more hierarchical, more rule bound, and more aware of status than the Swedish culture. While the company appears to be very aware of culture and even uses differences in cultures to its advantages as reflected by its advertising campaign for the British, it found itself in a bind when it tried to export its organisational culture to branch offices of the company in different countries. As per the case study, The culture at IKEA is essentially Swedish in nature where decisions are made with the consensus of others, mistakes are a part of the learning process and creative approaches to problem solving are rewarded. Red tape is frowned upon and status barriers are discouraged while managers like to work closely with co-workers. It is essentially a culture of equality when business cards do not carry titles and employees are supposed to work their way up the company without any formalised training. In fact, any education given to the employees is through discussion and explanations which explains the philosophy of IKEA. The company seeks employees with open minds, positive communication skills, a good work attitude more than it seeks employees who have degrees in sales and marketing. This particular organisational culture came into direct conflict with the national culture of Germany where hierarchical systems are important and personal initiative is discouraged. Even something as simple as using the managers’ first name created issues and risk assessments procedures showed that the German employees functioned differently when it came to making choices from a set of given options. Similarly, informality in France was seen as a sign of weakness and indecision which was taken to mean that the employees could do

Are attitudes, policies and procedures for dealing with female Essay

Are attitudes, policies and procedures for dealing with female offenders difficult to justify when compared with their male counterparts - Essay Example In line with this, this research will answer the question ‘Are the attitudes, policies and procedures for dealing with female offenders difficult to justify when compared with their male counter parts?’ the methodology employed in order to address this question is documentary research. The study, utilising the documentary research methodology, relied on using secondary data collected from various scholarly literatures written about female offenders, UK Case Laws, crimes, and legislation. In the documentary analysis undertaken, the answer to the primary question is NO. It is not difficult to justify. This answer to the question is supported by the following suppositions: 1. Justice is impartial. The gender and sex of the offender is immaterial in the resolution of the case 2. There is a need to redefine the court system in such a way that it will accommodate female offenders and workers in the justice system 3. There is a need for restructuring of the justice system. 4. Reformation in the justice system 5. Training among the workers on treatment of female offenders. The notion of women committing crimes have been considered as a deviancy from the cultural image and gendered expectations that society has of women.1 Being such, traditional theories pertinent to female delinquency and female offending have been focused on how women are biological destined in committing crimes or by explaining it away via citing pathological explanations that confound the criminal act. Recognizing the importance of these views as necessary in understanding the criminal behaviour of women, does not preclude the fact that women ‘do’ commit crimes and that there are factors and explanations behind their criminal acts and not simply because of their gender or sexuality.2 Although Table 1 shows that compared with men, women commit less crimes but it does not show the fact that there is an increase in the number

Xmas Gift :: essays research papers

Christmas Gift   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  It was the holiday season, and Christmas was fast approaching. With the twenty-fifth only a few days away there was no more time for procrastination. I decided to go to the mall in an attempt to complete all the Christmas shopping at once. While wandering around the uniquely decorated mall, I noticed a particular store that caught my attention. Pausing for a moment to stare into the window of the shop I came across the perfect gift for my father. Stepping inside I asked the shop keeper what the price would be if I purchased item on display in the window. The shop keeper, speaking with a thick Russian accent said â€Å"For you my boy the item is free.† Being Christmas, I did not want to press my good fortune, so I left the shop quickly as possible. As I got a farther away I could hear the shop clerk laughing manically. Hesitating for a moment I thought to myself â€Å"perhaps the old Russian shop keeper was insane, or rather that the holiday season was gett ing to himâ€Å". I did not give this matter of a â€Å" free present† another thought. Besides I had more shopping to do, so I braved the screaming kids, irritated parents and an assortment of mall rats to get the rest of the shopping done. I did the holiday gift buying in an hour or less. Deciding that my trip to the mall was over, I set off for home.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  When I arrived at home I ran straight to my room and found the wrapping paper and ribbons inside a huge bag. Realizing I needed tape to complete the task , I went looking for the remnants of the scotch tape I had thrown into the depths of the enormous bag the night before when I had helped wrap my mothers gifts to the family. As soon as I found it I went to work on the job of wrapping the gift. The gift wrapping took a while and several attempts to wrap the object since it was so oddly shaped. When I had finished, the present resembled a clump of wrapping paper more so than an actual Christmas gift. I was very proud of myself since my father would never be able to guess the contents of the box now. I stashed the gift away under our tree and left it there for what seemed like ages, although it was in reality only a couple of days.

Macro-economic factors Essay

There are a lot of macro environmental factors that affect Telfin performance though emphasize has been given on the important factors. Economic factors like current and anticipated economic growth, interest rate, inflation, cost of labor, disposable income and distribution of income etc collectively comprise economic environment. Current and projected economic conditions: In recent years Pakistan’s economic figures were indicating very impressive and promising consequences and infact these all were proven to be wrong. A number of reasons are behind this but the most important are the economic policies which were not integrated with political environment in an apt manner. Secondly, terrorism has stooped down our economy in a very negative manner. Therefore because of these reasons Pakistan current and anticipated economic conditions aren’t in Telfin favor. Exchange Rate: Telfin is directly affected by fluctuation of exchange rates as investment is being done in USD, all suppliers have to be paid in USD and being subsidiary of Vimplecom, Shareholder calculations are in USD while revenue is generated in local currency (PKR). Due to depreciated PKR every year when revenue is calculated in USD it is minimized due to negative exchange rate effect. Fuel Prices: Telfin is the one of the biggest customer of PSO (Pakistan State Oil), due to energy crisis in Pakistan and being the largest on coverage for the services, more than 5000 cell sites have to be energized to keep the network running. Taxtation: Govt has applied additional 5% tax on the top up so subscribers get 5% less balance on recharge but as an impact it has been seen that subscribers have reduced the usage as recharge revenue has decreased and 5% reduction is from Telfin revenue. Inflation and interest rate: interest rate and inflation both are elevated in Pakistan. In most of countries it is very much natural that once economic conditions are bad central banks reduces interest rate in order to boost investment where as in Pakistan the case is otherwise. The interest rate is high because the government wants to cease central bank new notes issuing rate which is more than 15% currently. Therefore collectively interest rate and inflation are presenting a bad picture for Telfin. Unemployment rate and cost of labor: Because of higher education bang there  is a talented pool of candidates who are ready to be employed in big companies or organizations. But the fact is that the production of new jobs is not competent with supply pool therefore unemployment rate is high. In addition as supply of potential workers is high, the cost of labor is low in Pakistan which is a positive signal for Telfin. Level of disposable money and income distribution: It is really evident that if the economic conditions of a particular country are bad, the people living in, do not have high level income to be spent. Moreover the fact is that national income distribution is very unfair and unequal in Pakistan because elite class dominates on key government posts. Non-economic macro Exposure: Telfin like every other organization is also affected by the political setup to a greater extent which are needed to be addressed. Political Factor: There is a democratic government now-a-days in Pakistan but due to previous government policies & present government inability to manage issue wisely, it can be concluded clearly that government is not able to stabilize the situation as it was expected which is surely not good for the companies like Telfin. Rule of Law, Corruption and bureaucracy: Due to the amendments made in the constitution of Pakistan by ex-dictators and domination of rich people on the vital government posts, there is just a minimal justice and rule of law in Pakistan. Regularity authorities: There are regularity bodies in Pakistan like PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority) but it does not have enough grip on issues as it is expected from it due to the mandate given to it. Security: Due to security situations, telecom industry has suffered a lot as on events th ere is complete network shutdown to prevent terrorism. These shut down is a direct loss for complete industry. Moreover due to different measures taken by regularity to address security is to have Biometric scanning before issuance of SIM so cost of sale has increased recently and all operators have to install machines to have scanning capability.
